Artezen Hotel

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

The Artezen is an upscale boutique hotel located near Wall Street. Within its 21 stories are 89 guest suites, a ground floor restaurant and 2 level penthouse bar. The alteration was a complex undertaking as it started as two separate buildings with dissimilar structural systems, floor to floor heights and uses. The challenge was finding balance between the ambitious architectural program and the entirely new engineering systems needed. This required considerable coordination and attention to detail. The architect provided in-house zoning and building code services to optimize the building by drawing upon their expertise in historical codes and precedent.
